Reflections- Architecture Design

What have I learnt?

- I improved on my skills in the area of Google Sketchup, and deepened my understanding towards it. Also, I learned more about 'poster making' applications such as InDesign, which will help me if I am required to design a poster or card in the future. Not only that, I also improved on my organisation skills as I had to organise my ADMT journal in a way that people can understand it properly, logical yet informative. I also obtained better planning and time management skills. The schedule was tight and I had to manage our time properly so that I can complete our tasks on time.

What are the difficulties encountered?

- There was a lack of time and it was difficult for me to manipulate Google Sketchup to do what I want. Hence, I had to rely on scurrying for tutorial videos so that I would be able to make some of the 'un-boxy' shapes in my design. The software was also quite slow and hence, editing of the design took up a lot of time and patience.

How did I overcome the difficulties?

- I modified my design accordingly so that it can show the features of the original product with the objects that can be designed in Google Sketchup with my level of skill. I also learnt and tried to organise my time so that I could complete the tasks on time, pushing away all procrastination and watching more tutorials diligently.

Links to the 10 Cs.

  • Creativity

Generation of ideas.

  • Commitment

Sacrificing time and effort so as to complete the ADMT tasks on time.

  • Critical Thinking
Thinking on how to modify my design so that I can successfully complete it in time with the constraints and my vague understanding of Google Sketchup. Also, I had to do extensive research before the design stage, which is to be recorded in the journal.
